چکیده

The objective ofthis investigation was to test a small thermistor for oral use and to study temperature variation in non-inflamed oral mucosa Gingival and labial vestibular or sulcus temperatures were measured in 30 young dental undergraduate students with teeth with a gingival index score of 1 or less. Four sites of measurement. mesial, labial, distal and lingual, were made around the six selected teeth and at 2-mm intervals extending down the buccal or labial sulcus into the sulcus itself. For each subject the gingival temperature was subtracted from the sublingual temperature to obtain a temperature differential and the gingival temperature differential was greater in the maxilla than in the mandible. The method used in this study was reproducible. Temperature increased from the gingival margin to the labial sulcus, and there was an increase in temperature from incisor to molar in both jaws, and the maxillary sites were cooler than those in the mandible. An irregular variation in temperature differential was seen between mesial. labial, distal and lingual measurement sites.

Vestibular Extension along with Frenectomy in Management of Localized Gingival Recession in Pediatric Patient: A New Innovative Surgical Approach

This paper reports case of pediatric localized gingival recession (LGR) in mandibular anterior region which was treated by using new innovative surgical approach, i.e. combination of frenectomy and vestibular extension. These interceptive surgeries not only gained sufficient width of attached gingival but also lower the attachment of labial frenum. How to cite this article: Jingarwar M, Pathak ...

Clinical Anatomy of the Frenulum of the Oral Vestibule

Introduction The frenula of the oral vestibule include the labial and buccal frenula. Abnormal labial and buccal frenula can affect facial esthetics and oral cavity function by retracting the gingival margin, creating a median diastema, and limiting lip movement. Because of the lack of information on these structures, we aimed to clarify their anatomy.  Methods A total of 34 sides from 17 fresh...

Does labial movement of lower incisors influence the level of the gingival margin? A case-control study of adult orthodontic patients.

It has been suggested that proclination of the lower incisors results in gingival recession. Proclination is, however, a valuable alternative to extraction especially when considering facial aesthetics in adult patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between the extent of labial movement of the lower incisors and the prevalence and severity of gingival recession in ortho...

Bone and Crescent Shaped Free Gingival Grafting for Anterior Immediate Implant Placement: Technique and Case Report

Immediate implant placement in a single staged approach, with or without provisionalization, can be advantageous in preserving gingival anatomy around dental implants. However, placing implants immediately in the changing alveolar bone of an extraction socket may result in progressive recession of the gingival labial margin over the implant restoration. This negative outcome may be overcome wit...
